On March 24^th and 25^th, 2025, our project coordinators Dr. Berna Şafak Zülfikar Savcı and Dr. Susanne Willers participated in the workshop "Contemporary Migrations in the Americas: Cross-Atlantic Dialogue for Socio-Spatial Justice" hosted by Leiden University. At this event, they presented findings from the ongoing ForMOVe II project, each focusing on different thematic aspects. While Dr. Zülfikar Savcı held a presentation, in which she examined the decision-making processes of forced migrants from the Americas and the Middle East navigating restrictive conditions, Dr. Willers explored gender(ed) inequalities in the context of forced migration, with particular attention to the role of local reception contexts in Mexico and Colombia.
